HISTORY

Global Resource Alliance, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)3, non-profit organization headquartered in Ojai, California. It was founded in April 2002 to provide financial and technical support to community organizations in the world's least developed regions working for social, economic and environmental change.

About Us

Lyn founded Global Resource Alliance (GRA) in April, 2002 after being invited to work as a volunteer finance and accounting consultant for Foundation HELP, Tanzania - a small NGO on the shores of Lake Victoria. Prior to that, he owned and operated an industrial sewing machine company, served as Chief Financial Officer for a manufacturing firm and, for the past 15 years, has served as an accounting and database consultant for many small businesses and non-profit organizations in Ojai, California.

Lyn spends most of his time coordinating GRA’s programs in water resource development, microfinance and sustainable building. He lives with his wife Tara Maria Blasco and has two grown children – a son Bo, and a daughter, Monica who has served on the GRA Board of Directors since 2005. Lyn has also taught meditation since the early 1970s, and is currently co-director of the Ojai Wisdom Center.

Tara coordinates GRA programs related to alternative health, malaria prevention, education and orphans support and has been involved with the organization as a volunteer since 2003 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2004.

She holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a specialty in prenatal and birth psychology from Santa Barbara Graduate Institute.

A native of Spain, Tara has been working as a volunteer for different non-profit organizations since she was 14 years old. She also works as a counselor for families, is a craniosacral therapist and a director of the BEBA clinic, a center for family therapy in Santa Barbara and Ojai.

Presently, Tara lives in California with her husband Lyn Hebenstreit and co-directs the Ojai Wisdom Center.

Monica has volunteered for GRA since 2002, and has served on the GRA Board of Directors since 2005.
